Speech-Language Therapy

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Data Driven Results - Evidence Based Practice

I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 25 years.  I have worked with patients across the lifespan in medical and school settings by helping them meet their goals in the area of speech, language, and swallowing. As I worked with my patients and students, I realized the importance of getting to the root cause of a problem and not just treating the symptoms. It all starts with a comprehensive assessment with a close look at medical history and an even closer look at oral structures and function. I use evidenced-based orofacial myofunctional therapy to help my patients make measurable progress.

As an SLP with advanced training in orofacial myology, I treat disorders that include open mouth resting posture, oral habits, tongue thrust, teeth grinding, orthodontic relapse and obstructive sleep apnea.  Another unique aspect of my work is the use of removable oral appliances. I have personal experience with all the products I use.

Orofacial Myology for Speech

Sometimes you have to start with the mouth and supporting musculature before you can tackle speech sound development.

The faster you address the root cause of a child's challenge, the faster you will see results.

I help the parents too...

What happens outside of a therapy session is almost as important as what happens during a session.

Parents play a critical role in supporting their child's therapy program.  We will work as a team to help your child.
